Ms. Ria Lewis, is our Managing Director and Environmental Lead.
She is an environmental management professional with over 20 years of experience and a passion for environmental risk management, waste management and sustainability. She is no stranger to the field of environmental regulatory permitting and compliance; having worked with environmental regulators in the United Kingdom (Environment Agency) and Trinidad and Tobago (Environmental Management Authority). Areas of regulatory focus have been developmental projects (Construction, Oil and Gas, Other Industries), Noise Awareness & Management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Compliance Monitoring and Flood Risk Management.
For over 15 years she worked in the Oil and Gas Industry through BG Group and Royal Dutch Shell providing environmental technical support for medium to high-risk environmental projects ranging from design and installation of offshore gas production platforms, brownfield modifications to onshore and offshore gas processing facilities, decommissioning of onshore gas processing facilities and to day-to-day operational and logistics sites. Her technical expertise is varied and includes regulatory permitting, auditing, compliance management, water and effluent management, waste management, air and greenhouse gas emissions management.
She is an authentic leader who values truth, honesty and integrity even at great personal and professional risk. She does the right thing even when no one is looking! Her attention to detail and resilience ensures that clients get premium service and the stick-to-it-tiveness to get even the toughest jobs done.
She has a BSc. In Biology (Ecology & Conservation) from the University of the West Indies, a MSc. In Environmental Management from Imperial College London and is a Practitioner Member (PIEMA) with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) in the United Kingdom. She is also a registered IEMA Auditor, a lead ISO14001 Auditor, a Waste Management Subject Matter Expert, inter alia.
Bringing all of her experience to bear she is now focused on extending the impact of her organization and making a positive contribution in environmental management with the CARICOM region.
